Q&A with Alice Andreeva about her summer internship

Q&A with Alice Andreeva, Summer Intern at Hard Numbers

Meet the Numbers

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am going into my third and final year at Durham University. I thought this summer would be the perfect opportunity to try something new. For the last three summers, I interned at a political PR agency also in the city. My career experience thus far has laid an excellent foundation to explore and build my knowledge. When branching out into other areas I’m now quite pleased I fell upon tech.

In my spare time I like finding new places to eat with friends, shopping, playing the odd bit of hockey and binge watching netflix crime documentaries.

What initially attracted you to work at Hard Numbers?

I first came across Hard Numbers on LinkedIn. What initially struck me about the agency was their commitment to providing top results while maintaining a balanced company culture. The interview process confirmed this. During the early recruitment stage, I noted the team were especially kind and helpful, supporting me up until my very first day. I was assigned a line manager and was regularly able to discuss my progress and set specific goals for my 8 weeks at the agency. It was particularly warming to see how Hard Numbers values both its employees and clients equally, placing them at the forefront for employee satisfaction!

What clients do you work with?

I worked on three different accounts this summer, learning about innovative payment solutions and sales enablement software. Tech was an industry I never thought I’d get into; however, after this summer, it is definitely a path I consider pursuing in the future. Every week I would have set tasks and responsibilities. Some of my tasks included writing press releases, pitch notes, byline articles and social media posts. This helped improve my writing skills and I have become more confident in my industry knowledge.

What’s been your favourite thing about working at HN this summer?

An aspect I loved most when working at Hard Numbers was the level of control over my accounts. I was able to communicate directly with clients and be hands-on with managing all my tasks. I know most interns aren’t as lucky to experience this, so I am really grateful I was given the opportunity to get fully stuck in. In addition, managing so many clients helped me with my organisational skills and allowed me to network with all kinds of people.

Anything to add?

I think my summer with Hard Numbers was a really successful and enriching experience.  I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who made my time so special, and thoroughly recommend the agency to anyone who is looking to embark on a well-rounded internship with an absolutely fabulous team!
